So, if it’s so easy why aren’t we all putting it into practise?
It’s so easy to fall into bad habits, or into a rut of grabbing things on the go or convenience foods as we’re pushed for time or late for things. I think especially as runners we are sometimes guilty of this, of rushing around and grabbing whatever comes to hand (got to satisfy that intense ‘runger’, yes?) with the mentality of: ‘oh I will run this off later, no worries’, or ‘I ran this morning, so I can eat this and whatever I want’. The amount of times I’ve been for a run with friends and there have either been jokes re: hitting Macca’s/KFC afterwards (actually, I don’t think my friends were even joking about this, this was actual fact and a regular thing) or we have all collectively gone for a few post-run beers and pizzas.
Now, I’m not discouraging occasional post-run beers or pizza at all! But rather, wanting to point out that it’s easy to make this more of a very regular thing, a habit, and before you know it your diet is actually quite lacking in whole, fresh foods at the expense of quick, easy, convenient foods or junk foods, yet your running training is still on track but you’re left wondering why you’re either feeling fatigued / weary, or why you’re put on weight (instead of the perceived weight-loss effect of running) or why your running times and performance haven’t improved.

I put together this 4 week mini-program, a diet makeover / month long challenge, as I know firsthand the amazing difference that getting your healthy diet back on track can and will have on your running; and that’s a GREAT thing!!
There is so much confusion (both intentional and unintentional) re: nutrition and health online that it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or to again let those bad habits take precedence (because after all, you’re a runner, right? Should be able to eat whatever you want, yes? Hmmmm.....)
It’s time to get back to basics and start again.
During the challenge we will be focusing on ONE different key strategy / topic each week. You will have one week to really hone in on the info you receive and complete the task(s) (yes, there will be homework! Because who doesn’t like homework?! Lol...)
